What is a pH 7.00 buffer solution used for?
A 500 ml pH 7.00 ± 0.01 (25 °C) buffer solution is used for the calibration and verification of pH meters in the neutral range.
pH 7.00 is the most important reference point because it represents the neutral point on the pH scale.
It is required: For single-point calibration when measuring values close to pH 7. As the midpoint in a 2- or 3-point calibration (e.g. with pH 4.01 and 9/10).
